About Me

Padua (PAH-doo-ah) Bread Co. was created after years of making bread for family and friends and a “gentle” push (or two) from my husband to make it official. But before Padua was official, I started making bread on a journey to eat not only healthier ingredients, but tastier bread. After I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2020, I wanted to eat less inflammatory foods and sourdough was the perfect place to start. Now, a wife, a mother, and owner of my many chickens and ducks, I’m happy to share my bread with more neighbors and friends so everyone can eat bread the way it should be - handmade, 3 ingredients, and fresh.

Why the name Padua?

Padua Bread Co. is named after St. Anthony of Padua, a saint who has long been meaningful in my life. My devotion to St. Anthony inspired the name as a quiet tribute to faith and tradition; with my family originating in Italy, it felt like the perfect fit.

About our Freshly Milled Flour

Milling wheat berries right before baking preserves the entire grain—bran, germ, and endosperm—so the flour retains more of its natural fiber, vitamins, and essential minerals like iron, magnesium, and potassium. Flour that is commercially processed and shelf stable loses all of these natural benefits. Because of this process, the bread is more nutrient dense, flavorful, and a unique loaf that you can’t find in many other places.
